🎭Adding BNB to MetaMask

We're very acquainted with buying NFT's for ETH and now we're aware of the implications of doing so, we want to be able to use Binance's Smart Chain (BSC) - NOT "Bitsonic" and please don't Swap ETH for BSC on your MetaMask wallet!)!

There is a tiny amount of upfront/one-off configuration needed in YOUR MetaMask wallet to be able to fund it with Binance's BNB, so let's get started ...

You might notice straight away that MetaMask uses an Ethereum wallet as standard. These are apples and BNB are tomatoes (they are both delicious fruits, but you don't want to put them in the same fruit salad!). At worst, you could lose funds by sending them to addresses you can’t actually use, so let’s change that and access the MetaMask Settings.

On the Settings page, go to the Networks menu.

Now click Add Network in the top-right corner to manually add the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) one (as it doesn’t come packaged with MetaMask). It’s important to note that there are two networks we can use here: the testnet or the mainnet.

Mainnet (This is the one you are probably looking for)

Network Name: Smart Chain

New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/

ChainID: 56

Symbol: BNB

Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com

Source: https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/connecting-metamask-to-binance-smart-chain

Once you Save the Network and return to the main view, you’ll notice two things: 1. the network has automatically been set to the one you just entered, and 2. the units are no longer denominated in ETH, but in BNB.

Making transactions (on the mainnet)

Don’t let the Ethereum logo fool you – you now have a Metamask Binance's BSC mainnet wallet.

Go ahead an copy your shiny new MetaMask BNB Wallet address to your clipboard which you can now use on Binance to withdraw funds to.

Just like having two bank accounts, it's always prudent to make a small transaction first to check and validate that everything works.

Now we can all do our bit for the environement !
